The ready-to-use IDKRAS kit is a multiplexed and sensitive tool for the detection and quantification by digital PCR (dPCR) of KRAS‘s mutations (KRAS proto-oncogene, GTPase) in codons 12 and 13 of exon 2 and codon 61 of exon 3.
The KRAS gene, located on chromosome 12, encodes a 21.6 kDa GTPase that plays a key role in EGFR (Epidermal Growth Factor Receptor) signal transduction targeting downstream effectors in the signaling pathway. KRAS mutations are found in 22% of human malignant tumors of different types. Pancreatic, digestive tract and lung cancers have the highest mutation frequencies with rates of 90%, 20-30% and 17%, respectively, unlike prostate, thyroid and melanoma cancers (8%, 3% and 3%, respectively). The most common mutations are found in codons 12 and 13 of exon 2 and codon 61 of exon 3 of the gene.
This optimized kit provides a multiplex solution allowing, for each sample, to simultaneously amplify, in one PCR reaction, the KRAS‘s mutations at positions G12, G13 and Q61 (Ref: IDKRAS(b)-50, IDKRAS(s)-50).
This kit can be used on circulating cell-free DNA (cfDNA) extracted from plasma samples or DNA extracted from FFPE tissues.
